Gambas Pil Pil

Gambas Pil Pil

This is my all time favourite Tapas dish. When visiting Spain or any of its islands the first thing I do after dumping my luggage is to seek out a local bar or restaurant and order a dish of Gambas Pil Pil. AKA king prawns in garlic butter. They ooze deliciousness and are perfect for dipping hot crusty bread into….

This is also a really quick dish to knock up (takes less than 10 minutes) so would make a great starter or light supper!

Cost wise it was a total of £1.70

Gambas Pil Pil

Knob of butter (7p, Aldi)

3 cloves of garlic, minced (9p)

132g (or half a bag) of Frozen king prawns (£1.50, Iceland)

1 tsp dried parsley (2p)

Glug of olive oil (2p)

The hardest part of this dish is remembering to defrost your prawns!

Defrost your prawns overnight

Heat your butter and oil in a high -edged frying pan

Add the prawns, garlic and parsley

Heat until hot and cooked (about 5 minutes)

Serve whilst still red hot!
